AMA Recap: Avalanche Vietnam x Kalao

Before we dive into the questions, can you introduce the Kalao project to Avalanche Vietnam community. Tell us about the team, your guys’ background, and what you all bring to the project.

Efe Büken (Kalao):
Kalao is a complete NFT ecosystem. We have some very key competitive advantage and points of differentiation. We’ll deliver a rock solid marketplace on Avalanche with advanced features which is very much expected by the avalanche community. We bring VR capabilities to the NFT space with 2 main products : Kalao Vision which is our Galeries concept and Kalao Worlds with The Citadel which is complete virtual world where users will enjoy full metaverse experiences. Last but not least: We’re building frameworks to bring these techs to real world use cases ! Event ticketing, luxury goods digital commerce, Virtual Live concerts.

I’m Efe, working as a CMO. I’m also a part of MC ventures in Turkey. Helped several projects in the ecosystem and now trying to increase kalao’s reach with innovative marketing strategies.

Our CEO, Hassan have an engineering background, he held various positions around business development and formerly leading business strategy in luxury industry. He is in crypto space since around 2017. His role is to develop the company, help in building the best business model and build longterm partnerships.

Nassim has a financial engineer background, he’s also in the space since 2016/2017. he held various position helping european banks to develop blockchain projects. Nassim has a great strategic mindset, he’s an amazing asset!

Emeric is the VR lead, great experience from the gaming industry, he’s developing amazing stuffs!

Anthony is our head of Product. This guy is a machine, he never sleeps and never stops. He’s the link between user experience, design and our dev teams building consistent roadmap of features and making sure what we put in the roadmap does make sense and is properly.

Adrien is our CTO. This guy is a genious. I only met very few people in my life developing and delivering this fast.

Brice and Vincent are our UX guys. They have great experience in Design and UI/UX. They working so hard to deliver the best in class and frictionless experience.

We also have Antoine and Virginie who are building End-to-end onboarding program for artists, a kind of Kalao Acamedy which will facilitate and ease the adoption of such tech and bring even more users to this space.

We do also have great advisors who do support a lot with great network as well as very insightful feedbacks on the roadmaps: Omer, John, Nick and Mehdi.

1. There are so many NFT marketplaces we can find on Crypto. But what makes Kalao NFT market different from those? Also, how secure are the transactions on Kalao?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
Kalao offers something different and something more… Kalao is an NFT ecosystem on Avalanche Ecosystem. We are not just providing an NFT marketplace, we are offering an experience along with our real world use-cases. I’m not even mentioning the VR capabilities which is a big differentiator. We want our users to enjoy complete virtual experience together with additional features and services such as : Multiplayer mode, Voice chat, gallery customization, avatarization, virtual pets. Also, Kalao dont have any custodial service. That means, kalao is not holding any currency in their wallets except %2.5 marketplace fee.

2. I see Kalao project has no community for non english speakers. Are you a project globally or not and will you suppport local communities in the future?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
We have a local vietnamese communtity. https://t.me/Kalao_Vn We always value blockchain hubs like Vietnam. We also have unofficial turkish, chinese, japanese, french and portugese channels.We always enjoy to host local NFT artists. We are a global project but local roots are always important.

3. The metaverse world is constantly evolving, how will Kalao present this new metaverse world to us? Will Kalao be able to make metaverse developments usable in our daily life, will Kalao guide us in the metaverse world?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
You can imagine the metaverse experience like another form of living. I always imagine the future as a constant devepment and fresh experiences. This is why we are aiming for the citadel. Our vision is to drive people and businesses to metaverse. Everybody shops online nowadays. Imagine yourself in a big virtual mall. When you buy an NFT, your physical product is shipped to you too. Sounds interesting, right? :) Also, we like to visit Paris museum, galleries. Quite a lot here in Paris. In a COVID context where people were locked-down and with the develoment of NFT economy, it came very quickly to us the idea to have a virtual experience where people can visit, explore, trade. This will be great alternative to “Real-World”

4. One of the biggest benefits is the fact that it rewards the holder. That’s really a good thing, so what mechanism was put in place to be able to reward holders with $KLO?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
We have multiple utilities and reward mechanism. We have released a utility document which describes quite well the utility of the token.
In short: some features will come for free, some will come at a one off cost and some will be unlocked by staking your KLO tokens.

For example;
We will have a discount when you stake your tokens
You will have some community rewards based on volume, gallery traffic, referrals or even while exploring the Metaverse

5. How much knowledge of blockchain or NFT do I need to have in order to enjoy all the features and tools that Kalao offers? Can a beginner user use Kalao? Do I need to pass KYC to register?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
If you have used a regular NFT platform, you can easily use our marketplace too. This is why we tried to use a similar design. Also, to mint and sell your own NFT, you can just follow simple steps and do it by yourself without any knowledge. For our virtual galleries, if you played “any” game in your life, I think you can find your way in the ecosystem :) And we are a decentralized platform. we are not asking any KYC.

6. The Kalao Marketplace is powered by the Avalanche blockchain with the X-Chain and C-Chain networks to offer multiple types of auctions. What is the difference between the two C-Chain and X-Chain networks for the NFT Marketplace engine?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
X chain is the native avax blockchain. It offers its own blazing speed and utilities. C-chain is a regular evm compatible chain. so when you are on the avax blockchain, you can easily switch your chain and act according to it. this is a unique aspect for avax and pretty cool :)

7. What major partnerships does KALAO intend to use or how does KALAO bring its products to the average consumer — especially non-crypto users?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
We have an onboarding program to achieve that. Onboarding program aims to integrate non-crypto artist to crypto ecosystem. We have a crue dedicated on that. Both tech side and marketing side. Consider it like a 7/24 support for the artist.
This will also increase the mass adoption for Avalanche and whole crypto too..

8. Where can I currently buy Token?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
You can find it all DEX’s in avax ecosystem like trader joe or pangolin, also gate.io

9. Can you list 1–3 killer features of Kalao that makes it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage your project has that you feel most confident about?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
I think I can easily count more than 3. We are aiming to be THE marketplace on Avalanche. Smooth UI experience is important. Then VR capabilities of course, there is not even a competition in the market. Along with real world use cases, event ticketing and citadel, I think Kalao might be the next best thing in NFT space. Since we already have a killer developer team and a working product, we are in a very good position right now :)

10. How many wallets that can support $Your Token until now? And do you have any plan to build your own wallet? Could you please elaborate more about your tokenomics? What’s the total supply and what kind of plans do you have regarding the token unlocks in the future?

Efe Büken (Kalao):
We are in talks with coin98, they are my close friends from vietnam :) we are not planning our own wallet but we have plans for a mobile app of kalao. our tokenmetrics are all public and can be found in kalao. io website. briefly, team tokens have 3,5 years, investors have 2.5 years of cliff+vesting to indicate our dedication to the project :)
